Over the past decades, International Organizations and Development Agencies have been producing a wealth of knowledge with the aim of making a pertinent and meaningful contribution to public policy. The form of this knowledge varies from in-depth research reports, assessment and evaluation reports, policy briefs and recommendations. While most of this production is often robust, relying on original data and cutting-edge research, it nevertheless faces lot of challenges and limitations. These challenges are not only linked to the extent to which policy makers are responsive or not, but also to how relevant the deployed international or universal analytical frameworks are anchored, relevant or connected to national realities.
Often understudied, this webinar aims to shed light on the knowledge produced by humanitarian and development agencies in the Arab world and aims to unravel this field by exploring case studies from the UN, Lebanon, and Syria.
